Bill Frist is a robber baron like the rest of them. Some of that info just points to him being a heartless profiteer more than anything, while some of it makes him a close associate of actual criminal fraudsters. I find it interesting how many of our "leaders" now can be found buzzing around corporate criminals like flies to shit. Maybe they are directly implicated, maybe not, but their constant co-mingling is unmistakable.

I'd like to know just exactly how he put those animals down in the first place prior to the autopsy. If he did this while still in med school, he could not legally have access to drugs for painkilling/euthanasia purposes. It's dispicable enough to lie to an animal shelter to obtain animals for experimentation, it's worse to have either killed those animals inhumanely or to have stolen drugs. Anyone know any details on this.

This guy is a first class dirtbag.

Acording to PETA it is news release here I just tried to actually buy the book at Amazon but its out of print.

I find it interesting that PETA is willing to forgive the whole thing if he pushes their agenda of non-animal medical research.

Why go to animal shelters and lie in order the get cats, and why just cats? During that time frame, he could have legitimately purchased lab animals from any number of sources. Or bought mice, hamsters, rats, etc from pet shops. Or picked up various animals from newspaper ads. Strange.

You can buy euthanized cats from any biological supply house; you don't need to lie to get them.

When I used to work in a university med school, helping med students learn to do surgery on cats and rabbits, we had no problem with students doing extra work on them. The thing is that practicing surgery on live animals is not something you can do alone at home. Surgery involves anesthesia, sterile technique, and access to a wide array of tools. When practicing surgical procedure, there were never less than 3 people present; one to do the actual surgery, one to assist, and someone (usually me) to prep and watch the animal, maintain anesthesia, that sort of thing.

Perhaps you've got the wrong impression of the kind of habits doctors are supposed to cultivate in the surgery. They aren't accomplished by butchering small animals at home...which I would think is precisely antithetical to good medical practice.
