I've never really had any friends-- those whom I might consider friends are usually people who are there just to humor me.
In fact, people are amazed to hear I've only been hugged twice (by some slut who did it because someone told me to, second time was because I tried to get away from her first time). I do not sink down to the "it's okay to be irrational" school of thought. No, it's not okay to be irrational. My strong views and lack of ignorance and irrationality greatly seperate myself from other people. So, they've ignored me and I've rejected them. Really, though, it's not me-- it's other people's fault (for being stupid). |

I also don't know how people could be both amazingly predictable *and* irrational. A purely rational person would be far more predictable, wouldn't they? Are you still using two different computers, or have you consolidated your two names back home? --tibac |

You and I have something in common, Lord Kenneth. The people I hang around with are more like acquaintances. Truth to tell, and I mentioned this here before, I do sort of look down on some of these guys even though they probably know about something that I've never even heard of.
And I've also had to hug some skank twice here in school. I have no interest in her or any of the ugly, horribly stretch-marked girls here. |

This discussion is rapidly deteriorating and flaking out of the realm of a Secular Lifestyle discussion. Is anyone still interested in the original topic of feeling detached from society because of their atheism and superior level of intelligence?
Lord Kenneth, play nice please-- by that I mean specifically refrain from implying that posters you are responding to here are lowlifes. --- AspenMama, SL Moderator |

Feel free to correct me if I am misreading your posts, but it would seem anyone who is so conscious about why others don't measure up to one's own standards is not likely to have many associates or any good friendships (nor likely to breed successfully either). While it is good to stretch your mind as far as it will go, there is a lot to be gained by being comfortable with all kinds of people. Qualities like kindness, trustworthiness, empathy, loyalty are far more important in a friendship than raw intelligence. j |
