I've always admired the New Zealand Kea - any bird that can dismantle a car with its beak *has* to be respected.

So I have a question for Kiwis out there:

1. Does the term "Kiwi" get old? Is that just an outsider thing, or do you use it yourself?

2. Do you get tired of hearing your country referred to as "Middle Earth"?

LOL. That's a relatively new thing. Kinda cute, really. Although I tend to call my country Aotearoa - the *real* name of this country. (it means "The Land of the Long White Cloud").

Australia is Gondwana. (I think?)

Not the Australia where people actually live. There are large parts of New Zealand that aren't really habitable either.

Ahhh, I misunderstood you. I thought you were being facetious about it being an Aboriginal name, so I was thinking more in terms of John Howard not saying sorry.

I'm not sure that would be anyone's choice for a collective indigenous name in any case.
