Thumbs up Dean Harnessing the Power of the Internet

I don't know if any of you have been following this today, but Howard Dean has raised over a thousand dollars a minute today, most of it from the Internet. MSNBC is calling him the frontrunner at this point as he has money and momentum. ABC has an article calling him the "$6 million Man" - they're only a million off as he's on par to easily break $7 million for this quarter of fundraising. Most imporantly, these are mainly $25, $100 and $200 donations, not a bunch of people paying $2,000 for a hot dog.

Dean's use of the Internet is truly groundbreaking.

Now, I'm in a good mood .

THOUGHTfully Yours,
Clark

Did You see this?

Clarification: Every person's donations up to $250 are matched by the federal government. For example, anyone who donates $50 will effectively bring $100 into the campaign (the $50 is matched). Anyone who donates $1000 will bring $1250 into the campaign (the first $250 is matched). This applies to multiple donations as well: Anyone who donates $35, and then $50, will bring in $170 to the campaign.

Is this "MoveOn Primary" something official?
Do You think Kucinich will take the lead further on?
Both seem to be against the war(s).

Moveon is a pretty ingenious progressive US website. It began during the Clinton impeachment nonsense urging Congress to "censure and move on". Moveon was active in protesting the war in Iraq. Their primary was very unofficial. Had any candidate gotten over 50%, they would have officially endorsed.

Kucinich is not considered a serious candidate. Time magazine recently called him, along with Al Sharpton and Carol Mosely-Braun, a "vanity candidate". He polls about 8th out of 9 candidates. He is to the left of most other candidates and is not electable. I have a better chance of getting elected and I'm constitutionally prohibited . He did well in the Moveon primary due to his anti-war stance, as Moveon members are generally very anti-war. This was the first time I had seen double-digits of any kind associated with Kucinich.

Is that really so? I donated $500 to Dean the other day. I still have $1500 to go before I reach the individual cap. Should I really donate it in $250 chunks, so each of the chunks are matched one-for-one? That sounds too good to be true.

Autonemesis!

Yes You should. And You should tell Your friends also about this.
I can't vote, but I do not know if it is suitable to send money to America?

Btw. In the end of the link I gave is quite interesting letters.
For me anyhow.

I think only the first $250 from any single person is matched. I think they'll match $250 again if you donate in 2004 though. I think they match up to $250 a year from any one person.
