I think she can probably speak for herself. She's asking us what it would take for us to believe in God. She's asked three related questions: 1. What do atheists require to have a "God belief." I answered re-define history, culture, and mankind. Then I asked how those changes would change the definition of God as contained in the Bible. No response, no answer. 2. Don't you have to have a definition of God to not believe? I answered that I do have a definition of God. It's contained in the Bible, it's let's just say not too flattering. It's let's just say not believable apparently even to Amie. 3. How would we respond to being confronted by an actual angel. Would we suddenly believe or would we write it off. I didn't answer, but in turn I've asked what if she were confronted by God. I've asserted that a typical conversation with God, based upon the Bible, might look like an incitement to terrorism, genocide, or murderous attrocity. I've supported that assertion with the Bible. She says she knows what God would or would not do. She asserts that he wouldn't incite her to commit terrorism and genocide. Even if he did, she wouldn't do as commanded by God himself. She'd say no to God. I've asked her what it would take for her to: Quote:

And most of the chapter is a known interpolation, including that verse and most of the others you took from Mark 16. Christians should not use this verse. Jesus never said it. The rest of the scriptures do not apply to all non-Christians, but those who do evil according to their own conscience. Paul tells us of a man who is saved, while all his works are burned up, so good works are not required for salvation. He makes an even more general statement about those who are saved "as through fire." (1 Cor 3:15) We also have the example of the thief on the cross who is saved though he has never believed in Jesus, nor has he done anything good with his life. He is saved because he realizes Jesus is Lord at the last moment of his life, and calls him such. Show me one scripture that says those ignorant of the Gospel are damned. Show me one scripture that says "all unbelievers go to hell. " That's what Asha'man asked for, and you have not delivered because there is no such scripture. In fact Paul specifically says that ignorant unbelievers will be judged and punished according to their own rules. Anybody see anything wrong with that BTW? Rad |

Upon reading your first words, I thought, "Why should more than ONE be needed?" Thanks then, for admitting, twice, that indeed, only ONE is needed. |

You can find the definition of such words here: http://www.yourdictionary.com/ Why yes, you didn't know that? Criminy, even fundy scholars knew that 200 years ago. You gotta get out more man. Actually it reads like an obvious interpolation, as there is an abrupt change of subject, grammer, tone, etc Rad |

I said Jesus never said it. I'll try to explain the logical conclusion, as I know you drink on Friday nights. That means that the only verse which implies all unbelievers go to hell was never said by Jesus. Get it now? Try to keep up and quote me completely. You know what happens when you don't. ![]() |

Rad, my love, when I first see you demonstrate something close to recognizable logic, I'll shout it out. For now tho, why don't you LINK everyone to just ONE of my many failed attempts at fault-finding Rad. I'll be up all night trying to hold my breath. Try to keep up and quote me completely. You know what happens when you don't. Oh yes, Rad, we all know what happens... do bring on more incessant whinning. |
