No wonder you didn't hear nothin'. </strong>
Damn... That's the answer... I am nothing more than a sham-sensitive... I blame my (atheist) father...

But I did cry when I heard they were making "Delta Force 2"... Does that compensate?

I remember talking to a woman who was involved in selecting candidates for training as high school teachers. She remarked that some candidates would announce "God told me to do this!" but it was her observation that a year or two into the course, God often changed his mind and told them to go do something else. As a result, although she tried to be tolerant, she tended to shy away from candidates who claimed God had told them to apply.

It seems god was unable to give consistent advice (perhaps it is due to the overwhelming number of requests he receives) - he told one to give up on the relationship and the other to hang in there.

Anyone else have similar stories?

I was friends with a woman who belonged to a church and she belonged to a singles group within the church. She once admitted to me that one time the group was trying to make some decisions on some things and they all prayed for guidance from their god. When they met to talk about these things, each member of the group had a different (conflicting) response from their god, and yet each claimed that they were pretty sure their god had spoken to them. What amazed me is it didn't faze any of them. I can't believe (well, yes I can) that it wouldn't make you ask why this had happened. They ended up ignoring the whole subject, and discussed their issues, and made the necessary decisions amongst themselves. I told her they probably should've just done that in the first place.

I have an acquaintance who is constantly getting involved with pretty boys who are no good for her. For years (years is the key word here) she's been "asking god" what she should do, and wondering what lessons god's trying to teach her.

And, over the last 16 years God has transformed me into a soccer fan, foresaking all the other American sports, which I never watch anymore. Given soccer's popularity in this country, God must be laughing and laughing!!!!

Oh yeah, God did it.

She may be asking, but I get the impression she's not listening.

Maybe it`s good she not listen since gods advice is probably to use no birth control, get pregnant, don`t feed your baby or seek medical care and don`t forget to give the local church part of your income.
