AJ,
F12T and I are making essentially the same argument right now, so you don't have to reply to each of us in kind. Besides, I think Brighid's arguments are much more philosophically interesting than mine so I wouldn't mind seeing you tackle that first. |

Surprisingly enough, it's in the dictionary.
Goyim - Used as a disparaging term for one who is not a Jew. Sorry Brighid, your secret's out.

Philosoft and Free -
Well, indeed my "secret" it out My closest friend is Jewish and she has filled me in many of these kinds of Yiddish terms! She swears I must be part Jewish with my ungodly ability to smell a good sale a mile away. She and I are truly amazing when we go shopping together Brighid |

All I know is that in the circles I travel goy and goyim is used disparagingly. So hes a GOY, and Christians are GOYIM! The plural is People or nations followed by Gentile - often used disparagingly - goyish being the adjective.

BTW, sarcasm and polemics aside, the commandment against murder is (1) one of the Noahide commandments as well, and (2) not properly translated as "Thou Shall Not MURDER an Israelite, but ...".
