lcb - this board is not a source of free psychoanalysis. It is my source of recreation and humor.

I tend to avoid discussing the non-existant God (I mean, what can you say? He's one of my favorite fictional characters.) I post more on church-state separation and general social questions, and somehow got involved in the debates on BC&A. And I've been on the board since it started.

You, on the other hand, just keep repeating a few themes. You think that there is something to prophecy, but you can't explain what. You can't produce a logical argument to support your fascination with prophecy.

So either you don't understand how logical arguments are constructed, or you are not telling us the full story behind why you believe what you believe.

if a person honestly studies all the evidence available and weighs the arguments and the probabilities and decides to choose Christianity, whether as part of a calculated risk averse strategy or not, would the people here view that person as less of a person?
I have no idea what it would even mean to view someone as "less of a person." Whether I would consider them somewhat dishonest would depend on whether or not they actually claim to believe in God on the basis of the evidence in addition to having chosen Christianity.

If the person chooses Christianity because of a businesslike consideration such as Pascal's Wager, then yes, he would indeed be less of a person in my eyes. If, however, he chooses Christianity because it's the religion that makes him feel best, then he would be even more of a person in my eyes. (though I pity him for now thinking the majority of mankind is hellbound. That is a loss).

I think less of his intelligence and his ability to reason logically. But that does not necessarily mean I think less of him as a person. Depends what other qualities he has.

I have a question for you.
How do you define "christianity", not a canned response or a response of memorized doctrine, but your own concept and words.
