Most people really dont want to know what you think, but rather they want you to tell them what they want to hear! I have learned this through much trial and error that in most cases its just better to keep your mouth shut. These people KNOW their partners flaws and chose to accept or ignore them, only to be disillusioned and unhappy years down the road. You want to say, Well DUH she was a neurotic, insecure, control freak before you got married! Did ya really think she was going to change after?

Everytime I see relationships like this I am all the more thankful that I have the husband I have!

You have never been to a movie with me. No one talks around me at the movie. I am the Good Behavior Nazi. Teenagers beware.

No more and far less! Adults should know better. I say bring the baby, sit near the door, be prepared to go outside for a spell to wait for baby to stop crying, and sod the surly looks you might get from some members of the audience.

Thumbs down

Cripes get the DVD! It's probably cheaper when you factor in the gas, snacks, etc. It is far less hassle, ie. you can watch it after the baby is asleep. You can watch it multiple times. You can stop watching and carry on later when you are interrupted. etc. etc. Heck I have only seen 3 movies in the theatre in the last 7 years or so (Star Wars Episode 1, LOTR-FR, LOTR-TT). Of course the fact that I have a HT with a 100" screen, 30 odd speaker drivers (including 4 subs), and about 300 DVDs may be part of the reason.

PS I have two kids aged 6 & 3.

[i]It's the people bringing infants to R-rated movies at 10 PM that get my goat. [/B]
I went to see House of 1000 Corpses at 11:30 at night. When the light came up, there was a little girl sitting in the row ahead of me. She could not have been more than nine years old. That movie had very disturbing stuf in it--I turned my head away a few times. She was very quiet showing the whites of her eyes as we walked out of the theater. I hope dealing with her nightmares was worth seeing movie.

Just had to share that.

Yeah, I misspoke - I'm weird, she's probably closer to the mainstream than I am. *shudder* she can have the mainstream!

Oh my freakin' non-existant gawd. I'm reticent to speak to strangers, but had I been there I'd have read her alleged parental unit(s) the riot act!

Oh the crappy memories that brought back. We thought we had the spawn of satan bent on driving us insane. "Just get her to shut the fuck up" was not the tender motherly response I had envisioned in my little fantasy world prior to birth. But was effective in conveying the despair of my wife at 3:30 in the morning. We slept in 4-hour shifts (with 1 - 2 hours extra between fits) for several months to be able to get some sleep. I was 2 am to 6 am.

The second one slept 8 hours a night the first week. Damn kid knew better than to mess with experienced parents.
