Bush will win because the Democrats are a bunch of lamers this time around.
Where is the prominent Democratic party spokesperson pushing the fake Iraq documents? Where are all the questions from the leading Democrats in Congress? They have no only dropped the ball, they kicked it off the cliff. I have no idea why they are not jumping on this stuff, I really don't. Just the other day I was having a conversation with a politically aware friend and even HE hadn't heard about the Iraq-Niger forgeries. The only reason I knew about it was from this board (until it made the CNN Headline News this week). Note: I am saying this as a (frustrated) Democrat. |

And do it for U.S.. Because Bush is inept. If you don't try to beat Bush, Laci, along with people concerned about democracy, then you are inept too. Like Bush. |

You wanna know how to beat Bush in the elections?
Well, you beat him... with a big stick!! Thats how!! ![]() ![]() ![]() Another infalible way to beat him, is to challenge him to a live debate on TV, where he can "inteligently" discuss his points of view. Please note the word "inteligently". Bushs usual answer to the Economy crisis: "...err, hummm, Saddam is evil!! Evil, i tell you!!And Tax cuts are good! Saddam evil, tax cut good! Simple..." Bushs clever answer to the Education problems: "Education?? ..uhh, <snif snif> well, i have learned that Saddam is evil... If people learn to read, they will pass a literacy test, and read about how evil Saddam really is!" His insightfull answer to the national debt would be: "My father is very rich! He will write a check, praise the Lord!! Have i told you that he thinks Saddam is evil??" His intelligent response to the Energy crisis: "Ah, thats easy!! Tax cuts, and some more iraqi oil fields!" His intelligent answer to the Unemployment problems: "Well, i have a job... A good tax break to my rich friends will make them hire more people, thus less unemployment... Darn, im so clever! Aint i clever?" His intelligent answer to the Crime rates rising: "Well, uhh... err...we execute the criminals?!?" His sharp answer to international crisis: "Bringem on!! Evil doers beware!!" Bushs response to Saddams possible Weapons of Mass Destruction: "Saddam is evil! By God, we will bomb them back to the stone age!!" Bushs response to North Koreas verified Weapons of Mass Destruction: "...err, uhh, axis of evil...diplomacy...they can bomb us to the stone age...ehh, err... dont want to end like Iraq... Next question!" Bushs explanation of world opinion about the US: "You are just jealous of our power, youre either with us or against us, bla bla bla, yadda yadda yadda..." Bushs explanation of why Saddam is still missing: "Saddam is evil, i told yaall!! He made evil pact with evil Allah to sabotage good God fearing americans!!" And what about Osama Bin Laden? "Hes evil too! Dont ask questions or you be helping him! Dont no one go question our methods, or our policies! If you do, youll be helping the terrorrists to attack America. Keep your mouth shut! Trust me! I know whats best.Im smart!" Finally, Bushs angle to win over the comming elections: "My fellow americans, America needs more Tax cuts. America needs more wars, more prisons and electric chairs, and more guns! America needs another "axis of evil", because this one is wearing out... And we need more oil! Have i told you that we need more Tax cuts?? Well, we do! And im the man who will give it all to you!! Vote for me, God commands it! God bless America, and the PNAC. Any doubts? ![]() ![]() ![]() |

Swampthing,
You can't beat Bush on intellectual merit. His constituency loves his stupidity as if it were their own. Its his lack of intellectual merit that makes him so appealing to the many infantile and ignorant Americans out there. And, yes, I say infantile because these are the types who can't separate their own sense of alienation from the attempts to manipulate it. They need to suck at the teat of propaganda and cannot begin to fathom events on their own. Hence, their views collapse into a simplistic cult of personality. |

I think we should get a phone "poll" going. We should have tons of volunteers call people, disguised as impartial pollsters and ask loaded questions like, "Do you approve of Bush more or less since the admission by the Bush Administration that they did not provide true information about the WMD program in Iraq?" and "Do you approve of Bush more or less now that it has been shown that the tax cuts advocated for by his administrations have and will continue to have neutral to negative effects on our economy?" and stuff like that. That'd be awesome!!! And it would still let people draw their own conclusions. I said earlier on this thread that you can't be too confrontational and make people feel defensive or else they will only like Bush better.

I couldn't advocate tricks or disguises even if I knew for a fact that the Republicans were using them. That's because A) it's not right and B) when you get caught, you've done your cause more harm than good. Honesty is the best policy. The Bush administration lied when they said they knew where Sadaam was stockpiling WMD. The nuclear material from Niger was either a deliberate lie or a foolish mistake--either way, the incident does not look good for Bush. The longer we beat them over the head with the truth, the more hollow their excuses sound. If we rail on about this for too long, there could be a backlash, but I suspect we'd wake up a lot of former apathetic nonvoters before then.
There are die-hard Bush-lovers with whom you can never reason. They are a lost cause. But there are many, many more people who usually do not vote. These are the people we need to reach in order to save our country. Beating Bush--no small task--is still not enough. Even a Democratic president who pledged to reverse Bush's worst policies could not do it with a gridlocked or Republican-controlled Congress. I think the only way Democrats could win the presidency and Congress in 2004 would be if Iraq and the economy hit the fan in the next several months. If Bush wins in 2004, I can only hope that his lies and mistakes catch up to him during his second term. Sometimes a country has to hit rock bottom before it can climb back up. |

It would help the democrats if they could get some attack dogs with high media exposure to do the brutal assaults on the Bush admin's policies, while the democratic candidates can keep their hands relatively clean. The republicans have such an incredible propoganda campaign (rush, ann coulter, liddy, faux news etc.), and the democrats need a similiar, thinly-veiled attack group.
