This is the question that monotheists have to keep away from.
Because like all previous gods, their god (and demons, saviors, prophets) will end up as a relic of history. But monotheists have made a huge bet. Once their god goes to Mt. Olympus or wherever, it's gonna be tough to get a new one going. Well, maybe not SO tough, after all, Joseph Smith was pretty successful. But here's the thing: I'm not scared. The ancients were terrified that the rain wouldn't come - for good reason - and just begged somebody - andybody - for enough grass for their animals so they could feed their children. But I know where rain comes from. I live in Seattle. I look at natural and human history and I see no mystery that God has ever solved. I see nothing that would not have happened with or without Him. Are there questions about how the world works? Sure. And?............. |
