Talking Sea monkeys as betta food?

I have a betta in my room, and I was wondering if there's any reason I shouldn't raise a sea monkey colony and every couple of days introduce a few lucky monkeys to Bob, who I'm sure would love to make their aquaintance. (I'm a baaaad vegetarian )

Bob already gets betta pellets and freeze-dried brine shrimp, but I'm sure he would appreciate some live prey every once in a while

Considering I've known bettas to eat anything from live goldfish to hermit crab exoskeletons, I'm sure Bob would love to eat sea monkeys.

Holy shit, LIVE goldfish???

Wow.

Then again, one of my cats brought home some dude's chinchilla (dead, of course) once, so I guess I shouldn't be too surprised.

Deminho: bettas are fish.

When I was a kid. I went to a friend's birthday party and I hadn't gotten him a present yet. His mom had given him something he really wanted- a fishtank with two goldfish. Since I didn't have a present for him yet, I told him we'd just walk to the pet store and I'd get him another fish. Unfortunately, the fish I chose was a betta.

Two days later, I asked him how the fish were doing. He told me the betta ate both goldfish and died. I felt terrible.

Betta Splendens, sometimes known as Siamese Fighting Fish, are the pretty fish that they always keep alone (males). The females are less popular but are cute in their own right and can be kept in a community tank.
I'm sure they would eat the Sea Monkeys (a hybrid species of Brine Shrimp), and he would probably appreciate the opportunity to hunt down some prey. Just make sure he's eating pellets too.

Actually bettas can normally be kept with other tropical fish as long as their is not another male betta present. I've done it myself with no trouble, although not with goldfish (goldfish should not be part of a mixed tropical fish community).

I don't see why you shouldn't feed Bob sea monkeys, after a good rinse to remove the salt water. When I had an aquarium, I bought live brine shrimp from an aquarium store and kept them in a well aerated holding pen. The fishes did appreciate live prey in addition to their regular fish food.
