I don't know much about Australian Rules, but if their governing body is anything like any other major sport, they'll come up with some mind boggling addition to the already poor rule.

I haven't watched a whole lot of Aussie Rules, but if I ever get to Australia I have to go see one of these games live. It would seem to be a pretty exciting event. I'll play it safe and root for the home team though.

Home team?

Because the national competition began there, of the 16 clubs in the AFL, 10 are in the state of Victoria. 9 of those 10 are in Melbourne(the place to watch footy- at the MCG). The matches between the Melbourne clubs are usually the most exiting for spectators, IMO, since they've had a long time(well over 100 years in some cases) to build rivalries. But that's changed a bit since the relatively new non-Victorian clubs started playing consistantly well, and winning Grand Finals.

If you ever get over to Victoria and get the chance, I'd suggest you go to a Carlton Vs Collingwood game, which is probably the biggest rivalry of the lot. Two groups of 40,000+(121,600 was the biggest crowd ever, and it was for a match between these two clubs, back in 1970) people trying to make more noise than the other...it's still pretty safe, though.

Down by 12 points, and now 2-5!

I think I'll go back to watching my '95 videos again...

Close, but no cigar, mongrel. Sorry about that.

I'm not going to gloat, because the Swannies will probably suffer a similar fate.

Yeah, BB2, you'd be pretty brave to put your money on Sydney, the way Brisbane are going. But I still remember Carlton v Sydney in '95 at the SCG...Carlton were seemingly invincible after 7 wins straight- and they lost to the team on the bottom of the ladder.

I'll be barracking for Freo, today, too, just in the hope that the Bulldogs don't bump Carlton back(on percentage) to 15th on the ladder. But I don't think they'll win- even though they seem to be damned-near unbeatable in the west, they still can't play in Melbourne.

I guess you'll be hoping for the Dogs to win? A win to Freo and Brisbane will put Freo in the 8, and knock Sydney back to 10th.

I guess if Fremantle are ever going to get a win in Melbourne, then playing the second-last team in the competition will do it for them. But, yeah, you're right, I hope the Bulldogs will continue Freo's miserable run away.

Of course, it would be even better if Sydney win. They have an excellent percentage and a win will make them shoot up the ladder ahead of the 'Roos, St Kilda and, best of all, Collingwood.

Best of all would be for Collingwood to never win a game again...WWED?

Actually I like to see Sydney knock Brisbane off today. And I just noticed it's on telly right now, so I'm off...
