Another point to keep in mind - and I saw another apologist try this trick before - they used archaeological evidence of the domestication of Bactrian camels in central Asia from earlier milennia as proof that dromedary camels could have been domestisticated in the Fertile Crescent. But Bactrian is not dromedary, and what might have been domesticated in central Asia says nothing about what happened in the Fertile Crescent, thousands of miles away. Finally, evidence of statues, animal heads, etc. that show up as pottery or as personal articles (jars, handles of hairbrushes, etc.) are not evidence of domestication. The Egyptians used the image of crocodiles and hippopotamuses in many such daily household items. Yet neither animal was ever domesticated by them. |
