a Seiji Ozawa conducting the Berlin Philharmonic; playing Tchaikovsky's Symphony no 5 and 1812 overture. The Third Movement (valse) is horrendous, the orchestral textures all muddled. Worst iof all is the 1812 overture, it doesn't sound like Tchaikovsky at all. The tubular bells sounds like a goddamned fundies possessed by Holy Spirit, and the "cannon" blast is hollow not to mention it went off-cue couple of times!!! Despite the fact it is a bargain-price CD, I'm taking it back tomorrow.
