I was just struck by the irony of the idea that the 9/11 attacks were probably the worst thing to ever happen to the Islamic fundamentalists. Would our country be pursuing this imperialist war if we didn't have the so-called "justification" of the war on terror? Fat chance. Half the people I see who support the war do so because they're afraid of terrorism. What if people are right and we are planning to attack Syria and Iran? Islamic fundamentalists have just made us hurt them even more.
Of course, this really isn't anything new as it's what Palestine has been doing for years. But I wonder if these al-qaeda folks really thought things through... -B |

It's a very bad thing to happen to those who live in the islamic parts of the world, but it can't do much else but fuel fundamentalism. Like the scholars have said, jihad means struggle, and what bigger, more endless struggle is there than the war on terror. Fundamentalism and fundamentalists are in vogue on both sides and becoming more popular for the war on terror, it's the general populace that will suffer.
