Default Bible Reviews

When the movie Jesus Christ Superstar came out, a friend of mine went to see it. When I asked how it was, he said, "It was good, even thought the plot was pretty ... traditional."

So today I noticed that Amazon.com sells bibles. And allows anybody to post reviews. I thought it would be funny to post a review of the bible complaining that the plot was traditional.

Imagine that you are going to review a bible at Amazon. What is the funniest, most clever, most telling, or most (gently) provocative bible review you could post?

"The most popular myth in America, in authentic Elizabethan English!"

"This book is great for in bed. When you suffer of insomnia, you might want to read a few pages of this to get rid of it."

"This book is kinda cliche. There is this guy who is supposed to be the good guy. Then there are all those other sinners who are all bad guys. The sinners win."

"A highly derivative work. Its impact has been greatly reduced by a profusion of unnecessary sequels."

Oh, sorry.

I actually wrote that one for Ingersoll's About the Holy Bible. My mistake.

Still, I believe that my review applies equally well to the Bible.

Thumbs down

"I found it to be tedious, monotonous, and poorly-paced. The characters weren't even remotely believable...especially this God character. What the hell was his problem? And the ending made absolutely no sense at all. Overall, a highly dissappointing effort."

"There is a reason why most of the authors of this anthology decided to either remain anonymous, or write under a pseudonym."

Cool

"Some style in the beginning but soon turns tedious, didactic, beyond melodrama--overuse of violence, gore--single chapter of good erotica and quirky ending does not save it."
