Why is it when an unconventional element is introduced into a community, some xtian twit has a Satanism panic?

Case in point is this story of a nudist campground in North Carolina...I suppose concerned residents imagine naked, horned red-skinned men frolicking at the pool with their demonic dongs flopping about.

Give me a break.

I think one of the primary types of people that xianity appeals to are people terrified of, and thus wanting to condemn, everything that is different from them. In the case of nudism, this would be easy to do based on the account of man's fall in Genesis. We had to start wearing clothes to hide our shame. Nudism = unashamed = embracing sin = Satanism...

People, fundies in particular, are weird about nudity anyway. Apparently, when they think of nudity, they automatically think of it in a sexual context instead of being something natural. It's gotta drive 'em nuts!

Yup. I imagine that fundies are so sexually repressed that it's about all they can think about. When you are shamed for masturbating, staring at various parts of the opposite sex's body, and have to wait until marriage for sex, you are just asking to have sexual stuff constantly in your mind.

Although, thinking about sex 24/7 isn't necessarily a bad thing. Maybe fundies don't have it so bad afterall?

Who was the first to note that a Calvanist/Puritan was someone who was eternally indignant that somewhere, somehow, someone was having fun?

Isaiah the prophet wandered three years without any clothes. as he was an old man who tended to let his mind wander and envision god, I wouldnt say he looked his best.

the fundies could argue he was satanist, if they liked. it would be amusing.
