That doesn't make sense. Is this a recent religious conversion, possibly due to his recurring health problems?

I mean, this is the same guy who called religion a crutch for the weak-minded!

Well, based on the description of his response-- "with some hemming and hawing"-- I don't take it as a ringing endorsement of Xtianity or religion. Disappointing in any case. Probably just trying to deflect criticism. Also goes to show that it's impossible for a committed atheist to win and hold elected office in this country.

Sure, it makes sense. Other people's erroneous religious beliefs are a crutch. His beliefs are a sensible and well-thought out philosophy.

This is just more of the blithering crap we've been getting from this grandstanding, incompetent moron for the last couple of years.

Almost every state has a deficit now given the economy. The same goes for many major cities. I don't see that as a fair criticism of any governor at this point in time.

If his comment on Meet The Press is an accurate representation of his views then I have lost any respect I had for the man.

I was remembering his "religion is for the weak-minded" quote also in thinking him an atheist. He sure had me and alot of others fooled.

Well, if he has an atheist guest on I hope that guest makes him squirm by asking for a clarification on that quote....

I did enjoy Jesse's willingness to question the value of religion, and assert that atheists are entitled to participate. BTW, one of his appointees to head a state agency was a regular at a "freethinkers" luncheon which I attend when I can.

That being said, he appears to be one of the most egotistical, self-centered people I know. I was glad he didn't seek re-election.

Remember the little tantrum he threw after the Wellstone memorial? He acted like a three year old.

All I know is that I admired his not caving in to the NDOP, which he wouldn't endorse as governor.

The show should be interesting regardless of his personal faith, and I'll be interested to see it once it airs.
