Talking Faith Forum: Evolution = belief = religion

Those of you who like peanut galleries (with the emphasis on the 'nut') might like to see the thread Evolution = belief = religion over at the Faith Forum.

Cheers, Oolon

PS 'Eva' has mentioned the ol' intelligent designer...

And there's also the thread Creation or Evolution: what do you think?. It's pretty well established, but Tim T or Patrick (or anyone up for it) might like to have a go at 'Big Dave', who's sounding off about the inaccuracy of radiometric dating...

I hadn't visited this site before. It doesn't seem as extreme and brainless as some xian sites. I was a bit worried about the logo and strapline, though. They may be seeking truth, but it looks as though that guy is brandishing a huge cross to fend it off if he finds it.

Dr. Brain had spent his life in a search for the Truth, apparently with the intent of placing it under house arrest.

I posted there last year for about a month, as Left Wing Lock. It was like clubbing baby seals, though.

I drank a stiff scotch, but I was able to read all 8 pages. There are a few resonable people there. There were also a few fat targets that Big Dave left hanging that nobody has hammered yet. Maybe later in the week. There are also other evo/creato topics scattered around the site.

I posted regularly on FaithForum for a number of months, but I gave up after it became apparant I was only wasting my time. Between a few idiotic trolls and some pseudo-intellectual Christians, it really got to be too annoying.

As an amusing story from there, one time Lindsay (the worst of the pseudointellectuals) and a few others got trashed on a EoG thread, and promptly created a new thread on the Christian-only section complaining about how the ignorant atheists couldn't grasp their "Christian logic." (And yes, they really used that term.)

Maybe I'll swing by again just for giggles.

I joined the site about one year ago (August 23), made several pointless posts, and was banned in November. Eva may not understand one thing about science, but she is nice, so cut her a little slack.

I was actually going to post a link that that thread, but I didn't think anyone would be interested in it since it's not from CF or Baptist Boards.

Uhhh...aren't you forgetting our old friend Evangelist Mike? Or Faithwalker? And have you read Onesog's posts? Oh wait, you're talking about intellectuals, and none of these people belong in that category.

There are actually several good threads at Faithforum from the Fall 2001-Summer 2002 era. Check them out.
