Talking A question for capitalists and communists on II

Hello,

I hope everyone has had a good day and enjoying their visit to the board.

I would like to ask a couple of questions and get a response from the capitalists and communists on the board. Please answer whichever of the two questions that pertain to you below:

1. If you are a capitalist, what would communism have to do in order to make you willing to support it, or at least neutralize any personal opposition you have towards it?

2. If you are a communist, what would capitalism have to do to make you willing to support it or at least drop any active desire to see it overthrown?

Thanks. Please be nice and civil to each other. I really am not seeking a debate or discussion per see, just each individual respondant's answer to whichever question applies to him/her above.

Open and unconditional emmigration would go a long way for me.

This would be a good start.

Krieger,
From your link, the last bulleted point, basically summing up the whole thing:

I did my best to find something that would not change communism to something radically different than it is, yet would make it much more pallatable to me. If the only good way you can think to change capitalism is 'change it to socialism!' then, well, I dunno. Maybe give it a little more thought? It just doesn't seem like a very productive piece of input.

I reject any political/economic system which isn't democratic and which doesn't respect basic human rights and the rights of the individual, whether that system be capitalistic, socialistic or any other permutation.

You missed my point, the capitalists (the ruling-class) would have to give up power and reform the system into a socialist state or else my desire to see the capitalist system overthrown will continue. :-)

Fair enough, and duly noted. Put Krieger down for one Stubborn As Hell with a side of Intractable Obstinance. Hold the Open-mindedness. At least I gave the question a fair shake, Krieger, much as it galls me to consider a communist society that I could live alongside if not inside.

The capitalist system woudl have to cease and reverse its process of colonizing human nature and spectacularization. It would probalby also have to establish some TRUE democracy and some economic democracy.

Im sorry if this sounds rather abstract and unclear, but these are complex issues.
