Amazing, how these pious people help God with his speech problem. After saying the words for him ("this is offensive to...") every time, is it any wonder he can't speak for himself?
You're right about the p-nis thing, brighid... those male-god religions are full of penis worship, much like the Hindus who worship Shiva's lingam . Being a straight male, I can't worship a male god. That's why I worship Nature as Goddess rather than God. Natura est Dea et felicitas mea. |

brighid, I knew lots of Catholics (including Jesuit priests) when I was in high school, and although I can't say for sure, I really don't think any of them would claim God has a penis. (Obviously Jesus had a penis, but I should think that was because of the "man" part, not the "god" part.) I suppose they might talk vaguely about God possessing some ineffable "masculinity," but the Jesuits I knew were too sophisticated to reduce their deity down to gross physical characteristics...
Even to define God as intrinsically "masculine," however, seems to me a limitation. And isn't God supposed to be without limitations? |

Next, the AFA will bombard Benjamin Franklin with e-mails for his highly offensive pronouncement of God's pro-beer agenda. |

Brighid you so hung up on God and his penis that you are too dazzled to read properly.
Genesis tells us that God made man in his own image and male and female he created them. This makes man neuter (androgyne) with the potential to become either male or female and renders our sexuality an attribute that belongs to the being called man and therefore an illusion through which God is procreated in the image of man, here with a penis to find a suitable partner in which to enculture the life he created. See the circle in this and the need for the womb of man to plant his seed? Edited add: sorry for being so nasty but is that not also how yogurt is made? Amos,
Well, since I don't actually believe in YOUR God or any God or Goddesses (you do understand the definition of atheist don't you) ... well, I am not the one hung up on the "masculinity" or phallic nature of your alleged diety. It seems Christian are because they are in a tissy about a yogurt add that says God is a woman! The only actual difference between man and woman is genitalia. So, tell me again ... who is so caught up on God's cock? Brighid |

On a more serious note, the lingam is actually embedded in yoni or vagina. I always say it is very very suspicious that Christian missionaries, all males, only notice the lingam. |
