ybnormal

Vomit and puke seemed less humorously descriptive.

Sorry! I don't honestly have any idea where or when I made my posts concerning my opinions about how the Religious Right came to power and how they are effectively utilizing that power to reach their version (interpretations) of biblical goals.

Unfortunately, as I have posted here before, The ACLU under its new Chairman has explicitely abandoned the cause of Church-State Separation to pursue "more urgent matters" of civil rights. I posted a transcription I made of the relevant exchange during the interview on NPR that Romero had upon assuming his post, but I can't find the thread now, it is quite old. Perhaps someone happened to have saved the exchange, it is quite horrifying.

As a card-carrying member of the ACLU, I nearly burned my card after hearing it. Fortunately, some local chapters are continuing to pursue CSS cases and causes, albeit without the support of the central "command". I hope that Romero's tenure will be brief, and that the ACLU will once more find its backbone. They are doing important work in other civil rights areas, which is why I maintain my membership for now.
