Hey Wonk!

Back when I was half your age, people your age were thought of as "already over-the-hill."

I feel that one of the nicest things about this forum is that there are at least a few people here over 50 -- it gives the whole board a sense of historical perspective from those who were old enough to vote before you were even a gleem in you dad's eye, as us old farts used to say

Here is the most recent "seriouser" poll

Actually...I already get high schools kids calling me an old guy (well, after they find out how old I really am...I look about 16, but really am 32...)

Anyway, it seems like just yesterday when I was in high school, and looking at people my age as "old"...it just seems like one day I went to sleep as a teenager, and woke up as a 30+ old dude...(hey, that would make a good tv or movie plot, if it hadn't already been done a dozen times!)

So, actually I am joking...I know what it's like to suddenly find oneself one the other side of the age fence, and the knowledge that there areactually people wholook at me as young, and that someday all too soon I will look back on 30 as young, only makes myhair turn greyer quicker!

Gods, and when I was a kid I used to hate constantly being mistaken for someone younger (I'mshort and baby faced) and now I regret that it is happening less and less...

Time to order that copy of "Final Exit", I guess...

- bryce (btw...growing old is like going through puberty all over again...you suddenly grow hair in places that you never knew it could grow, and it's just as gross to you now as it was then!)

i think 12/13 is the youngest here, so dont feel left out. And i have only found one member on the boards here that was willing to discriminate against me because of my age <16>, so dont be worried about that either. The people here are great.

I didn't realize there were so many fellow 16 and under year olds here! On most of the places I post *cough JREF cough* I'm one of the youngest.

(If you haven't guessed I'm between 16 and 17)

Now lets band together and call all the old fogies "Old Fogies", It seems to piss them off!

Default Ah, Canuck, if you'd bother to read the other age poll...

you'd find the following:

However, I'm going to look at this in a more positive light, namely: IT'S GREAT THAT THERE ARE SO MANY YOUNG PEOPLE WHO HAVE ESCAPED THE BONDS OF RELIGION. (I just had to "shout" that: the average age of humanists/free-thinkers/skeptics/atheists with whom I am acquainted is about 45 -- the most active ones are over 60.) I was beginning to think that atheist logic was fading away.

So, even though I feel like a dinosaur now, I'm glad that so many of you are soooo young!

I agree! It is wonderful that so many young people are using their minds and seeing through all that religious BS. It gives one hope for the future of this world.

As for the poll, I think there are more 'older' people on the board than the poll indicates. The poll really only indicates the ages of those people who like to respond to polls rather than indicating the true number of older people on the board.

Thankfully, I still have less than a month to my 30th....so I'm still in the 20-29 bracket...

14 on the outside, but with the urinary problems, stamina, and random aches and pains of an 80-year old
