Default How do I say "I'm an athiest" in spanish? (Help needed fast)

My mom hired this Salvadorian maid for the weekend, and she just came into my room and put her hands on my head and started saying stuff like "Padre" blah blah. How do I kindly explain to her, in Spanish, that i'm an athiest?

I don't know if there's a spanish word for athiest but I one could say

No creo en Dios (I don't believe in God)

I tried "I am an atheist" in the Google translation facility - it came out as:

'Soy un ateo'

...and even better, translating "Soy un ateo" from Spanish to English, it worked perfectly and came out as:

'I am an atheist'

How do you know what she was asking? And how is it your mom speaks only Spanish and you speak only English?

"Lo siento. Soy un ateo y no creo en Dios. Quita su manos de mi cabeza, por favor."

Means:

I'm sorry. I am an atheist and I don't believe in God. Remove your hands from my head, please.

(You might not want to use "Lo siento." It is usually used to express "I'm sorry" but it literally means "I regret it" and I would assume you don't regret being an atheist. )

She's lucky that you're a nice person. If I was in your position and she tried to put her hands on my head, I'd roll my eyes, let out a mighty yell of "Khaaaaan!" and fall convulsing to the floor. Then I'd take a little nap while I waited for her to come out of her faint.

If you had bothered to read my post, you would've noticed that it is the Salvadorian maid who is the Christian, not my mom.

Did I say that your mom was a Christian?

Reading your post carefully, the 'she' is ambiguous enough to apply to either the maid or your mother (I knew it was the maid though)

Yes, and so did I. I thought the winky face would give that away.
