You beat me to it--I got that off a calendar last night. However, given the connotations of the day I wouldn't be surprised if he offset it by a day or two.

If you remember what happened with Bush Sr., the bombs began dropping the very night that the deadline for Saddam to withdraw from Kuwait was up.

I think Bush Jr. will follow suit. He gave 48 hours. He meant precisely 48 hours. 8pm EST.

"began dropping the very night" where? Washington or Baghdad?

Unless provoked earlier, we WILL begin after dark for the additional advantages... Noon in Washington is 8 PM in Baghdad... that's what I'm basing my guess on... starting at 8PM Washington time would be just before daylight in Baghdad. I won't guess they'll do that.

The first Gulf War started after midnight on the 17 Jan, I believe it was a new moon. We could see it all from the tops of the sand dunes.
