That implies that anything they do won't matter in the long, run, and that they can still go to heaven no matter what deplorable acts they do, which to me is sickening. |

behavior and it's good to see you have taken resonsibility for yours. I think some people see salvation, or being saved, as a license to sin because they've bought into the idea of once saved always saved. Your opponent's point has merit IMO. Criminals who commit henious crimes seem to think that in spite of their acts the Lord will take care of them simply because they trust he will. To me, there is a matter of judgement in religion that in time will hold anyone responsible for their behavior, but there are those who think not. This is a type of relativistic reasoning that runs counter to the concept that God represents the absolute truth and power. Somehow these folks are led to believe that Jesus will shield them from the wrath of God. I think not. His plan of salvation relieves them of having to obey Judaic law until they die in order to have a chance at salvation after death, which is the concept of some Judaists, but it does not relieve them of being responsible for their behavior. |

and are taking advantage of the system. Has anyone heard the term "nervous as a whore in church on Sunday"? It's speaking of the idea that one can ask for forgiveness on Sunday and then go right out and raise hell until the next Sunday. It's not supposed to work that way, but I cannot help but envy those with such a moronic view of forgiveness. Could I just try it, just for a week or two Lord? With all these babes around I just can't seem to ignore their assets. To me a paedophile is mentally dysfunctional but it sadly points out the weakness or fallacy in the concept of absolute authority and truth residing in a supernatural being. I think that until God takes care of business in this matter some secular authority needs to hang these birds out to dry. Hopefully that would help to restore the fear of God they have seemed to lost, or maybe didn't have in the first place. The Catholic community has my sympathy on this issue, but I hope they can get the mess under control because it does not speak well for the practice of religion. |

I wonder if they claim sanctuary in church, and use that as an excuse to do pretty much whatever the fuck they want.

I thought the devil made them do it.
Jesus merely "saves" them. |
