Bleh, censorship of (parts of, which may as well be the whole thing) posts just because of a "racial slur" is nanny state bullshit. I would have hoped to think people are mature enough to not feel the urge to protect others from being mildly offended. I don't mean stuff like "die nigger die", or anything, but I have serious doubts it was anywhere near that extreme.

I too abhor censorhip. However, the comments that catman posted did seem racist. Or rather, inflammatory and advocating/supporting violence against a group of people simply because of their religion/race. In my opinion, catman was not just using an 'ethnic slur,' he was advocating violence.

That is A) uncalled for, B)had nothing whatsoever to do with E/C and C) well just uncalled for.

Then, his reply "I had heard this was a PC board--what a waste--just what the world needs." clearly indicated to me that he has no concern whatsoever for the people that he was talking about. Not even "I'm sorry if I was misunderstood." So I say, good riddance.

I am closing this thread, for three reasons:

1) It has nothing whatsoever to do with evolution, biology, creationism, or anything else related to this forum's topic.

2) It has done nothing but make people angry.

3) Though the thread's initiator claims to have been wronged by the edit, I still have yet to see anything posted in the <a href="http://iidb.org/cgi-bin/ultimatebb.cgi?ubb=forum&f=7" target="_blank">Bugs, Problems and Complaints</a> forum indicating this, for administrator review. All that I can infer from this is that the complaint is groundless.

So far, of the three moderators (myself included) and two administrators who have seen the original posting, all have independently concluded that it violated one of <a href="http://www.infidels.org/infidels/forumrules.html" target="_blank">the forum rules and policies</a>:
