Does retinal re-attachment surgery count as "corrective eye surgery"??

I do not anticipate ever having any kind of Lasik procedure. To me the calculus is simple:

Glasses/contacts: if there's a complication, remove them. Problem solved.

Lasik: if there's a complication, well, er, umm... Damn!

My response to eye surgery would be this:

"You want to do what to my what?!?!?" (puts in a 3-minute mile getting away)

Happy with my glasses, thank you muchly.

On a vaguely related note: I had my wisdom teeth removed in November. While the nurse was prepping me for the anesthesia, she asked if it's okay if they listened to Shania Twain during my surgery. My response was, "Heck, I'll be unconscious, listen to what you want."

Why did she even bother to ask? geez.

Actually, I do about 20/15 uncorrected. However, I'm also wearing glasses!

Just for reading, however.
