Default Peter Pan

The music is excellent in this film. Peter Pan, however, in my perspective, seems like it is endeavouring to encourage children to jump out of their windows and kill themselves, or at least feel somewhat dejected. For instance, think of what is said as they jump out of their window:

"Think of all the joy you'll find,
When you leave the world behind,
And bid your cares goodbye!
You can fly! You can fly!
You can fly! You can fly"

Or:

"When there's a smile in your heart,
There's no better time to start.
It's a very simple plan;
You can do what the birdies can--
At least it's worth a try!"

Neverthless, I cannot think of a film better than Peter Pan (well, perhaps Bambi), however sad and depressing it is. Yet I always seem to notice these peculiar hidden messages in Disney films.

Gawd that picture makes me want to cry, the man was lovely before he butchered himself. Silly bugger.

You can't beat Chuck Jones for hidden messages in children's cartoons.

Don't you have to think happy thoughts to fly though? it cancels itself out, the film's so depressing that the kiddies won't be expecting to fly when they jump out the window.
