The conventional logic is that why would anyone choose to do somthing like that unless they were born that way? That is because people see all the pian and persecution homosexuals suffer. Also most heterosexuals find it repulsive.
So the view that it has a genetic cause is very prevalent today.
I don't buy it. In societies where it is more accepted it is more prevalent so how can it be genetic? In ancient Rome and Greece it was almost Universal. "Women for babies and a man for pleasure" was a common saying.
If it did operate on the same principle as an addiction it would explain how it is difficult to change as a behavior, even in people who desire to and how there is such a strong drive for it.
Sounds like addiction to me.</strong>
Hmmm...then you'd be forced to argue that heterosex is even more addicting, since most of us are hetero. Your problem is that there is a smooth gradation from purely hetero in thought and deed to purely homo in thought and deed, with many variations on the way -- people who have sex only with women but fantasize about men, people who have sex with men but only in dominance positions, but sex with women in any position, etc. There are so many variations. Your crude map of the sexual world "Het vs Hom" doesn't work. Additionally, many researchers have argued that there are important and fundamental differences between male and female homosexuals.

Another issue you face is that of homosex in places like the prison and the military. Clearly human males have a sex mechanism that runs something like:

1. I want to have sex with something. Masturbating doesn't cut it.

2. If I can't get a woman, I'll take a man.

Also, what about experimentation among adolescents?

I've always thought that the typocal male thought process can be narrowed down to:

1: Will doing this get me laid now?

2: Will doing this enhance my chances of getting laid in future?

If the answer to both questions is no then the action is abandoned.

Which would refute evolution, because being a Nerd has no survival value...

So how does evolution explain Nerds anyways??

I'm sorry, but if I even try to debate this subject with you I'll get upset. Sorry I brought it up.
