Default What Will Happen To Warnie?

They are all coming out of the woodwork now......

http://www.theaustralian.news.com.au...5E2702,00.html

Will Warnie be able to recover from this latest bout of stupidty? Should he retire?

FWIW, Warnie is a great bowler but a bloody idiot. Has transgressions do hurt the game. I think it may be time for him to bow out and leave whatever dignity remains intact.

Those are the very words my father used.

I think it's none of our bloody business though if the guy wants to be a dickhead <i just feel sorry for the guys wife>. however, having said that, the ACB should be doing something to pressure him into stopping with some ultimatum of disposal. It is hurting the game IMO, and for the good of the Australian team's reputation, it's important that they keep him in line somehow.

Besides, even if Warnie does have to leave, there's always the likes of Macgill.

[nitpick] It's Cricket Australia (CA) not ACB anymore. [\nitpick]

I say give Warnie one more tour. If he doesn't take a heap of wickets, then dump him for good.

And for fucks' sake Shane, start acting like a freakin' grown up already! Sheesh.

The interesting thing about MacGill is that he has got into trouble a few times (a nighclub incident and on-field incident IIRC) and was in the ACB's bad books for a while. Warnie ,who has greater history of trangressions, has had a bit of a free ride I reckon at the expense of MacGill.

MacGill at least settled down. I think Warnie is the Wayne Carey of cricket. Someone who had lost touch with reality by being sheltered by those who should of known better.

Nitpick: when noting other people's nitpicks, don't make a mistake of your own to nitpick in return.

ad demonstrandum:

it's a forward slash, not a back slash.

I'm just waiting for him to belt the crap out of one of those cameraman who is hanging over his back fence.

I'm no fan of Shane Warne's, but the media response to these allegations (the woman in SA has essentially admitted to attempted extortion, for fuck's sake, and the Melbourne stripper has engaged Harry M. Miller to represent her) is sickening.

It isn't our business if Shane Warne screws around on his wife - and given the publicity which the episode with the English nurse received WHAT THE HELL WERE THESE CURRENT ACCUSERS THINKING when they gave him their mobile phone number/got involved in an affair with the man?

One of the nice things about Australia is the relative accessibility to the general public of our "celebrities". If the media keeps behaving the way it is at the moment, our high profile figures will do the same as celebrities elsewhere - surround themselves with minders and live in gated communities.

I'm still trying to work out what Warnie was thinking.

Last month's FHM had a bit of a story on Warnie. As good a player as he is, his off-pitch shenanigans make both the game and the Australian team look bad. Ditch the bum.
