The first two are found in Genesis 4:1-2 which says, "(1) And Adam knew Eve his wife; and she conceived, and bare Cain, and said, I have gotten a man from the LORD. (2) And she again bare his brother Abel" (KJV). The last, Seth, is located at Genesis 4:25 which states, "(25) Adam lay with his wife again, and she gave birth to a son and named him Seth, saying, 'God has granted me another child in place of Abel, since Cain killed him'" (KJV). The descendants of Cain start at Genesis 4:17 which reads, "(17) And Cain knew his wife; and she conceived, and bare Enoch" (KJV). The descendants of Seth begin at Genesis 4:26 and says, "(26) And to Seth, to him also there was born a son; and he called his name Enos" (KJV). Nowhere does the OT say from where Cain's or Seth's wife came. It could be that the writer omitted or was not told that Adam and Eve had female children from which both Seth and Cain married and had children. However, given the prohibitions against incest, which muffinstuffer pointed out in Deuteronomy and Leviticus, that is very unlikely. The other option is that the OT writter omitted or was not told that God created other human beings from which the children of Adam and Eve could marry. This option fits best with the textual data, and, therefore, should be the preferred choice. Thanks, --mnkbdky |

Perhaps Genesis was the creation of the Israeli people by god, and they were assumed to intermarry with other human beings. After all, God marks cain's forehead so all will know who he is and what he's done (Abel's murder) with what, only 2 other people on the entire planet left? It all makes more sense if you look at it as a story of the Hebrew people.
I guess all the Gentiles were made by other gods. Oh yeah, and don't forget Llilith, Adam's first wife. |

a-ahem (clearing throat) BULLSHIT. ahem
It is true that at some point in most all ancestral lines there was at least a little cousin to cousin breeding...maybe why so many are incapable of critical thought...maybe not. But fossil record renders all discussions of an adam and eve as moot as the flat world. |
