Dude, join a club or something. Form an anime club. Join Winter Guard (seriously, girls love it, and it's great exercise ). Hell, if you play an instrument, join a band (I know, I know, pop culture, but it's an idea).

All else fails, you could try, like, eating lunch with somebody you know vaguely, and start making friends. As long as you don't actively go around insulting people (note: I can get away with it, but that's because people are already used to my trash talk), you'll be fine. Since it's a new school year, you won't have the "but you don't usually sit with us!" issue to deal with.
I'm grouchy, not pathetic.

Grouchy people can make friends too, you know.

The accuracy of your statement depends on which definition of "pathetic" you are using.

Why does everyone keep on disagreeing with me? I know myself more than you do, I think I am quite qualified to say that I won't "find anyone" given my own personality and the unlikelihood of finding anyone I'd even like in the first place.

The chances seem astronomical.

While I would not presume to speak for anyone else, I think that you are engaging in something of a self-fulfilling prophecy.

Thinking that you will never find anyone does not exactly do wonders for your chances.

Remember that the chances of abiogenesis seem astronomical to creationists that do not understand (nor want to understand) how abiogenesis probably happened.

We are saying that you do not understand the chances of you meeting someone. They may seem astronomical, but they are probably not. That does not mean that you automatically will find someone (especially if you keep the attitude that you have...), but that you have a much better chance than you think you do. We are only trying to help you out.

Plus, read the thread that I posted above.

I hate it when people say that: It's childish because it sets you up so you can't be wrong.

1. If I do "find somebody", then you will be right that there is somebody out there for me.

2. If I don't, it's my fault for thinking that it would never happen.
