I'm sick of people telling me I must accept their apology for Dr. Who's shabby production values. Bollocks! A shoddy production is a shoddy production. I don't care if the BBC accountants are to blame, the final product blows!
Oh right, Dr. Who blows but Lost in Space, now there's fine science fiction drama!

I don't know any Polish sci-fi characters.

My partial list:
Agent Dale Cooper of Twin Peaks (stretching a bit, but some plot lines of some episodes had much sci-fi-ness, plus he's just the coolest guy ever! )
Data (yes, I was holding back tears at the end of Nemesis )
Fox Mulder
Spock
and
Wesley Crusher (Kidding! )

Speaking of anteater-like creations, I think Alf would have to be pretty far up there on my list. Granted, the 10-10-220 commercials have bastardized him beyond belief, but in all honesty, I loved the show. Some brilliant writing on that one.

...Followed closely by Darth Vader and Q.

The princess played by Zsa-Zsa Gabor in "Fire Maidens From Outer Space."

(She was Hungarian, not Polish.)
