I don't understand why people can't accept the idea that there is no "purpose" to the universe. It's quite easy at this point to understand, at least in a conceptual way, how the universe is purely mechanistic, came into existance in a purely mechanistic fashion, and "just is".
So, given that, there is no need for "purpose". There is no need for a deity. Why must we continue to have all these arguments? If someone wants, as a process of belief, to believe in a god or gods, ones whose existance are neither testable nor falsifiable, that's a religion, and that's their business. It is, however, encumbent on them to NEVER, EVER, under any circumstances, try to enforce THEIR religion on others. I'm not sure why Metacrock has engaged in so much namecalling here, but I've formed a strong impression from his namecalling, and it's not a positive one. <img src="graemlins/boohoo.gif" border="0" alt="[Boo Hoo]" /> |

reply to meta.
ME:Why would he (god) want a world when he's everything? META: See my comments in my first post about the relation between God =Being = love and giving or bestowing of being. I think you are saying god is love, god is being, love and being is giving existence to humans. I dont see any justification for saying this and for linking being, god and love... and you miss my point. The xian 'omni' definition of god contradicts with him creating something when he already supposedly is everything. You cant have infinity plus one. META:That's like saying "why would Being want to produce more being when it already is being?" Cause that's what it does, that's why it is being. Being=God? If that's what it is (everything) how can it produce more. It's illogical. You cant be everything there is to be,then add some more...Infinity plus one? And if god or being is already being then it doesnt need creating because it is. You seem to be saying the universe and humans are infinite and we all know the arguements against that. |

God exists solely for the production of other beings, Meta? Sounds more like a factory than a deity to me.
