It's not? It wasn't a deliberate bash against women and their evil vanity destroying children and all the youth in America? Really? Sounded like it to me. |

I would expect virtually the same response if it was daddy who did this. Probably more so.
"Dead-beat dad bakes kids in exchange for a shave and a haircut. " sounds just as putrid to me.... |

Ha! You just proved my point, boy-o. Where was the dead-beat dad at anyway? Dead-beat, by definition, means "run-off-and-left", doesn't it? All I want to know is the real reason why it happened. Obviously she didn't think "OH...my beauty is so important that I'm going to lock my kids in the car and let them suffocate" like you're implying. People, especially women, just don't do that. I find it especially interesting how noone ever, ever, ever asks that question. |

Is somebody's hair really worth two children's lives? Let some fundy explain god's purpose for this one! Do you see the word woman in there? If you think this issue is only about women, than that is your cross to bear, not mine (pardon the use of cross.) My issue is with the fact that two children died in a hot car. Leaving the kids in the car is wrong to begin with, but having said that, did this person even think to check on the kids? Did this person have somebody else check on the kids? Please tell me what this person's primary concern was then. Not the kids! Filo |

Suppose she was a single mom, and she was stressed out. So what? If she could afford to spend three hours in a salon, she could damned well afford a babysitter.
This is not a gender issue. It is an issue of stupidity, vanity, and irresponsibility. Or do you consider women to be above those faults, Katey? |

Alright, alright. I only wanted to know where the father was at and what her situation was. My point was simply that she didn't knowingly try and bake her children. It wasn't something she did on purpose. There's a lot of people guilty of "homicidal stupidity" in this world. Hell, a barge captain just smacked a bridge while taking a nap and killed a whole bunch of people...yet it's not generating this kind of outrage. The problem here is that the *ahem* person (man) who posted this obviously wants to believe that this woman was shallow and killed her children for vanity..and, conversely, this is obviously not the case here. Why is this post going on and on and on? The woman thoughtlessly left her children in the car. Women thoughtlessly leave them in their carseat on top of cars and drive off, too...sometimes they forget to pick them up from daycare or school. Shit happens. Some people just can't deal with stress and it happens. The only solution is to give everyone a stress coping and IQ test and those who don't pass muster get "fixed" so they can't breed. But we can't do that, can we? I am not excusing her actions. I am simply saying that you're (pretty much the whole thread) giving this girl more of a nefarious intent than is deserved...mostly because you want it to be true. |

Yeah, I'm with you on the homocidal stupidity thing. How about not guilty by reason of stupidity?
I'm new to this forum. Did the prosecution of a clearly psychotic mother who drowned her children generate this kind of response? Nyx |
