Thumbs down

How can any Christian honestly trot out these types of arguments?! I'll take someone like Darwin over most of the Church leaders throughout history any day. Martin Luther?! Thomas Aquinas?! These are the types of scum bags that most Christians today revere, yet they have the audacity to attack Darwin...*sigh*

This doesn't relate to Darwin and racism, but this quote from the original website given jumped out at me:

Quote:
If you wouldn't mind, I would like some specifics on how exactly evolution has been witnessed.
Okay, I'd like to know how creationism has been witnessed. Although, I guess that because nobody saw a primate evolve into man, and nobody has found "the missing link," therefore it must be false and Genesis must be the only logical conclusion. Silly me.

I can't believe the guy is claiming to have gotten an A for this pack of lies, and then claiming that he got all his information from "pro-evolution" websites. (Yeah, Answers in Genesis and the Pathlights Creation-Evolution site is certainly pro-evolution. )

Ah, Radical_fringe aka Kevin. That one post you made in the thread was a beauty. They didn't even know what hit them.

You can see what I mean though about circular bs. You refute one and another comes along a few days later with the same "arguments"(heh) without even reading the previous pages.

How can he get an A for that when he just copied from creationist sites? Must have had a creationist teacher?

They're going to get another one just like it. Although I don't have very much time to devote to either this board or that one, I'm planning on posting a full point-by-point refutation of his post. I don't think anything else will make a dent.

I agree. I know I refuted a strawman version of the Big Bang and that Behemoth proof text in my own big post.

I can only assume that his teacher is both unknowledgable about the content, and lazy about checking up on her students' references. I know I would have been flunked, perhaps for the entire semester, if I had just plagiarised papers from anywhere, let alone the net.

Probably one of the better places to look for evidence of this would be the work of Darwin's cousin Sir Francis Galton.

Darwin was a scientist, anything beyond that is trivia.

Quite frankly I don't care if he ate two lightly boiled babies for breakfast each day. His theory is one of the most profound in all science, and goes a very long way towards explaining the fact of evolution. End. Of. Story.

And if we're going for the ad hominem approach it might be instructive to quote some prominent 19th century churchmen on the race issue. As products of their time they would certainly have been at least as "racist" as Chuck D. and would not have had his scientific insights to mitigate their beliefs.
