How can any Christian honestly trot out these types of arguments?! I'll take someone like Darwin over most of the Church leaders throughout history any day. Martin Luther?! Thomas Aquinas?! These are the types of scum bags that most Christians today revere, yet they have the audacity to attack Darwin...*sigh*

This doesn't relate to Darwin and racism, but this quote from the original website given jumped out at me:

Ah, Radical_fringe aka Kevin. That one post you made in the thread was a beauty. They didn't even know what hit them.
You can see what I mean though about circular bs. You refute one and another comes along a few days later with the same "arguments"(heh) without even reading the previous pages. How can he get an A for that when he just copied from creationist sites? Must have had a creationist teacher? [ April 08, 2002: Message edited by: Bane ]</p> |

Probably one of the better places to look for evidence of this would be the work of Darwin's cousin Sir Francis Galton.

Darwin was a scientist, anything beyond that is trivia.

And if we're going for the ad hominem approach it might be instructive to quote some prominent 19th century churchmen on the race issue. As products of their time they would certainly have been at least as "racist" as Chuck D. and would not have had his scientific insights to mitigate their beliefs. |
