Why should i defend it? I don't particularly care what you think of God. You can think He is evil all you want, doesn't change my views one bit. You're spiritually discerned, and will never understand it. Its kind of a waste of time to try to defend it to a wall. Believe what you want.

Magus, don't you know the difference between bitterness and contempt? Also it is not an obsession when Christians are lying to themselves especially when all I am doing is reacting to the very liars we are talking about. The fact that you do not believe in all other supernatural religions is proof of what kind of liars you all are. If you claim to be honest and you lower your standards so you can believe in your religion it is dishonest to not lower your standards for all fantastic claims and religions. Your continued denial of this is proof that you are lying to your self and your denials to me is lying to me. Best thing you could do is just keep your mouth shut concerning your religion. Then you would only be lying to your self and my estimation of you would shoot up dramatically.

How am I lowering my standards? I don't accept other supernatural religions because they are not convincing to me. Christianity is. It has nothing to do with accepting lower standards for Judeo-Christianity over Islam or Buddhism, its just not being convinced by those religions. Again, your incessant whine fest over us lying to ourselves is completely unsupported. I accept Judeo-Christianity because i find it convincing; I don't accept Islam because I don't find it convincing. Its really quite simple.

Are you saying that you find it convincing for no particular reason? If so how can you argue for your beliefs or try to convince others? You must have reasons for why you find it convincing. When you examine those reasons the dishonesty will become evident especially when you compare it to all the dross you have spewed on this board over the last year.

No, I find it convincing for particular reasons. Through reading the Bible, personal experience, the doctrine of Christianity over other religions, the success of Christianity, the mirror image of Islam's god to the things humans like best. I have my reasons, which while may not be acceptable to you, are convincing enough for me.

It's interesting that the christian afterlife promises at least two of the things that many people enjoy - 1. gold, precious stones and other valuables 2. the suffering of their enemies.
