T.O. does have an advantage that its "newsletter" (i.e. the t.o. newsgroups and groups like this) is a bit larger than the other nominees are likely to have. But Cool Site of the Day strongly encourages sites to tell people to vote for them. I think if we can get fans of the Archive to submit one vote each, the odds are strongly in its favor.

If T.O. wins, the main benefit is not really not to slightly more impressive logo for the Awards section, but rather that a few more people will learn that it exists. After all 99.99% of people are not hanging out in forums like this one.

Kontraband now has a slight edge over T.O.

Regarding emails, I usually use:

support@dell.com

heh, heh, heh >-)

...although here I used a yahoo one. The coolsiteoftheday site appears to have a one-computer, one-vote checker also.

I just checked, it's t.o. by 6 votes (326 to 320).

(Kontraband.com -- I can't figure out *what* they do, except maybe some porn?)

But still, 326 votes is pretty measily considering that t.o. gets, what, tens of thousands of hits a week? (or maybe we just enjoy reading our own FAQs?)

One obvious possibility is putting a note asking people to vote on the t.o. frontpage or banner.

(Kontraband.com is doing this BTW, so we didn't even start it...)

(and BTW, the Kontraband page mentions that the winner site gets a trip to some award ceremony with beer or something)

nic

I feel guilty because on one computer I use, I accidentally voted for Kontraband. I am full of guilt.

That's okay, Jesus. you can just forgive yourself and take the weight of your sins on your shoulders.

Your votes will be very likely removed at the end of the month. Do you really think that the people who run the site are so utterly stupid? Please, lets do this the honest way. One person; one vote and campaign like crazy.
