O'kay baloo, I have no further objections. Your explanation sounds more plausible than my own so I concede that I was fortunate to have had a dog capable of this behavior to spare me from the bees. I shall remove this incident from any further reference as a testimony of a personal experience with God. Thnx for the insight and have a great day.

Thanks Baloo, as it turns out, this thread is successful. I hope RW doesnt think it was a waste of his time anymore. Thanks for your insight Baloo. As for RW, thanks for allowing us to take a closer look at your experience. Thanks too for your sincerity and open mindedness. Again, I apologise for the manner in which I handled this discussion.
I dont mean to be rude, but perhaps you have another experience that you have attributed to God? I would just like to learn more, and I believe subjective experiences are what most strong believers use to base their faith in God/ Gods existence. [ January 17, 2002: Message edited by: jaliet ]</p> |

Jaliet (and others),
Thanks for the kind words and support. I don't want to blow things out of context, but I do want to make the point that non-personal debates tend to be more fun to read, much more difficult and challenging to take part in, more interesting overall, and actually tend to reach a resolution (even though this is *usually* a respectful agreement to disagree). Rainbow Walking, Throughout this disucssion, I continually got a strong underlying impression that you really desired hard truth over "happier" fiction. I can't help but think of how disappointed a certain poster would be to see this preference (I'll protect his identity by refering to him as A. Cipriani...eh, too obvious... I'll just call him Albert C.). But I digress. Let me just say that throughout this debate (even apart from the conession), you've shown yourself to be an open-minded person, a very level-headed and thoughtful debator, and a freethinker capable of viewing your own cherished memories in an unforgiving skeptical light (something EVERYONE has trouble doing, myself included). I look forward to any future debates we might have. -Baloo |

Baloo
I started another thread with Albert Cipriani, quite similar to this. He doesnt seem to take RW very seriously in his sonnet thread, he said this Quote:
