Hey everyone,
I guess this is as good a way as any to introduce myself. I'm very glad to be in this environment.
I'm a fiction writer from Michigan, age 29. Those don't count in my ten. Here goes:
1. the first girl I kissed later spent time in a minimum security prison. Minimum!
2. I own more than 25 full-length R.E.M. concerts on CD.
3. I know what the subjunctive case is and how to use it.
4. I've studied fiction with Charles Baxter, Geoffrey Wolff, Ann Patchett and Robert Olmstead.
5. When I was young and visiting my mom at work, a woman said to me "hey, shorty," to which I replied, "hey, fatso."
6. I'm seldom very awake before noon.
7. I take absent-mindedness to new levels
8. I don't like Shakespeare. Not much anyway.
9. My step-father has a tattoo of the now-defunct USFL football team the Michigan Panthers on his arm.
10. I like to marinate my food.
Thanks for reading!

I'm jealous
It really didn't happen this year? Glad I didn't buy a new camcorder for it. Yeah, you can buy and rent tapes of the event at video stores. I was a student at U-M but didn't run...one needs to be innebriated and drinking and running seems for me about as likely as lifting a townhouse and carrying it to the next block.

I find this to be the most interesting, particularly since you were born without kneecaps. Or, are you counting the fractured bone as 2 bones?

1. I am told I appear much taller then I actually am (even without heels), and even people who have known me for a long time forget that I am short.

2. For 2 years I lived in what can only be described as nothing more then a tin can where I was nearly asphyxiated by a leak in my oven, almost electrocuted by some exposed electrical something or the other, and there was a threshold in the hallway where the temperature was so markedly different it felt like one way walking into a wall of cold it was a trailer in a not so nice neighborhood.

3. I attended a predominantly black college for my paralegal studies.

4. I am the mother of a 9 year old, biracial son who hopes to someday be a famous actor and chef.

5. A friend and I once safety pinned a guy to his bed (from the nape of his neck, to the very tips of his toes and all the way his inner thighs) after passing out at 1:00 in the afternoon. At 10 pm that night you could hear him scream from the room below for help because he REALLY had to pee! It was so damned funny He blamed my friends roommate because we appeared to be too innocent (that was the 1st and last time I was ever referred to as innocent at least without riotous laughter proceeding such a claim.)

6. I love pre-Raphaelite art.

7. Every year a group of women and I attend a local Renaissance Fair dressed in assorted peasant/witchy/pagan clothing. This year I have been challenged by a friend to wear an outfit made almost entirely of chain-maille.

8. I have very blue eyes and they are my most attractive feature.

9. I would love to adopt several different children from various racial and ethnic backgrounds.

10. My love of the martial arts began around age 6 when I had my first crush on Bruce Lee. I still think he is incredibly beautiful and sexy.

THANK YOU! I've finally found someone else who cringes when people say "I wish I was..."
