Nah. The Powers That Be and the random French purist are the ones who complain about American cultural encroachment, trying to protect their culture from all forms of American tarnish. It seems that the common folk like it, though, which is why so much of our garbage so readily took root there.

Nobody forced it on them. They took it because they love our greasy burgers, bad movies, and carbonated beverages.

The purists are screaming, "But you don't love them!" Which is about as effective as preachers who try to convince their parishoners that the parishoners hate alcohol, gambling, drugs and sex.
