By the way... even if you could prove that Christ never existed as described in the Gospels.... I would still value his teachings in terms of human behavior. |

How about the Muslims? Or the Hindus? A Buddhist might say that your reliance on your belief in Jesus is actually miring you in Samsara and preventing you from attaining Nirvana. A good Bodhisattva might want to lead you in the right direction. |

If that's your final answer, then unless the question was "What idiotic tripe are you gullible enough to believe?", I fully expect that it was a non-sequitor.

Sure, whatever. If God wants me to believe in him then he'll show me in a way that will convince me. If I believed crazy shit that people say that easy then I'd be huddled in a corner my entire life scared of monsters, vampires, aliens, serial killers, what have you. It's just plain stupid to buy into something that doesn't genuinely convince you.

Is there a bible thumping smiley that unabashed proselytizers like Tarnaak could use? After all, why should we have all the fun?

I suppose I can't comprehend the Spirit. Which could make sense either because I'm incapable of doing so, or because there's nothing to comprehend. I have no faith in Jesus. I am entirely ready to accept an eternity of hellfire for not being stupid enough to believe for no particularly good reason. At least it would be a moral victory, something religion seems short on - after all, what purpose does morality have but to lead away from obeying (insert thing to obey here)? |
