With nothing else to do tonight I hereby start a thread for post sluttin...errrr...to discuss the 3rd test between Australia and West Indies in Bridgetown.
Interesting game if Australia wins Waugh will be the test captain with the most wins ever. Also, will Lara score another ton with his arch nemsis McGrath back in the side? I see that for the Windies Tino Best will play who may add much needed pace to a mediocre attack so far. Also the batting is at full strength which will help. And to give y'all something to laugh at my predictions: Waugh will score a ton. Lara ineffectual with McGrath and the 3 other paceman sorting him out. Sarwan for a ton. MacGill to continue his form from the tour game. There you have it. Gonna be an interesting first few days. |

I still can't get my head around the concept of a test match. It seems a bit surreal for me. I'm waiting for the series of 1-day's to start up after the tests finish.

Stumps day 1 - Australia 3 for 320.
Seems the Windies bowling is still completley ineffectual. ![]() They're gonna need their batsmen to fire if they hope to pull a draw outta this one. |

Looks like the interest in the match will soon start to centre around Gillespie's mullet. |

Will Ricky Ponting stop scoring hundreds anytime soon, or what?
With games against Bangladesh, Zimbabwe and India coming up, his average should reach Bradman levels by this time next year. Lehmann has also managed to save his career at the last moment. |

At least my prediction regarding Waugh was on the money. And he has now scored the most centuries by any Aussie.
The pitch seems to be true for batting. A draw? Windies though are still 500 behind. |

600+ is a big ask - especially when our bowlers are more or less taking wickets at will. It's not beyond the Windies but they're gonna have to pull out their absolute best performances.
Australia are looking good for an innings victory. |

I only watch cricket during my own summer. It just doesn't enduce the same excitement from me.
I love lazy days going to the SCG to watch a game. Watching it from the West Indies on tv doesn't rule as much. |

The Windies need 405 to avoid the follow on, and if that happens, a draw is pretty much inevitable, in my view. They have a very good middle order in Lara, Sarwan and Chanderpaul. Ganga is also in pretty good form, and they are off to a good start. They haven't saved the game yet, obviously, but if they keep their shit together, a draw is the most likely result.

With the pitch being so batting friendly, I think a draw is on the cards as well.
