scigirl: Just to clarify on the "women's health issues" thing: Of course I recognise that there are some health issues specific to women, as there are for men also. And I do not for one moment dismiss the idea that these require specialised research which may also take into account gender and social factors.
I was just making, perhaps too obscurely for my own good, a smart crack or cheap shot - that words like "my research into women's health issues" are more often heard from, well, people who exaggerate the "male conspiracy" thing (as we have been discussing and, I think, agreeing on, here). To me it's just a sort of "alert" phrase like "you're being elitist". |
