A few of you know me already: I'm girlwriter's husband.

Hello everyone, I'm glad to be on board. I've been pariticipating via vicarious lurking (conversations about threads with girlwriter) for a few months and thought it's about time I jumped in.

Right off the bat I want to thank the people who run this online forum and the people that participate in it for providing the benefits of community to me and my wife: online and in-person. But more than just that...we were talking last night, and both of us are so much more optimistic than we were before our participation in these forums.

Through online and offline discussions we've learned that there are so many people in this world who really do think rationally. And that our numbers are growing. And that we have a voice, we can affect change. Before joining these forums we felt like the only sane people in an insane world.

So hats off to you all, already we owe a debt of gratitude.

Oh, and just so you know...I probably won't post that often. I get more out of lurking and talking with girlwriter than in posting. Plus, this sounds corny but...if you want to know my opinions on almost anything, just ask girlwriter. We think *very* much alike. And in a way, when she posts it's me posting as well. Hope that doesn't make anyone sick

Think I'll go over to the "explain your login name" thread and try my luck at explaining mine...it was three in the morning when I signed up and I think I was in a half-dreaming state...
