Default Garner sure to win confidence of Iraqis

"We ought to be beating our chests every day. We ought to look in a mirror and get proud and stick out our chests and suck in our bellies and say: 'Damn, we're Americans!'," Jay Garner told reporters, saying that Iraq's oil fields and other infrastructure survived the war almost intact.

"There is no humanitarian crisis -- in fact the Doctors without Borders have gone home -- and there's not much infrastructure problem here, other than getting the electrical grid structure back together," the retired U.S. general said.

Two members of the Doctors Without Borders relief group have vanished in Baghdad, prompting the group to stop working in a country that desperately needs medical attention.

This collection of quotes can only dash my vain hopes he was actually there to help Iraqis. His gross misrepresentation of the reason of Doctors Without Borders for leaving Iraq just made me il.

Well, maybe if he would look at other reporters (not the formally embedded biased fools) he would see that he is wrong. The Iraqi oil fields survived intact because we are going to pump them dry and then let them try and live on their own, after we establish a puppet government.
