I saw that livius drusus linked to a specific post in a thread on the IIDB Conference Room forum, by using its post number.
How do I find out a post's number so I can do that? Helen |

The URL construction for vB to display a specific post is http://www.iidb.org/vbb/showthread.php?s=&postid=xxxxxx#postxxxxxx where xxxxxx is the post number. For example, here is a link for your post above. |

I do it slightly differently, which i find easier for some reason. I go into the "find more posts by this user" button underneath their post, scroll down until i find the offending post and then copy and paste the link.
But both methods work. |

I now know another way (for PCs as opposed to Macs) to get the post number that was PMed to me by a thoughtful IIDB user:
Right-click on the quote button, then choose 'copy shortcut'. Then when you paste you get a URL with the post number which you can adjust so it's in the format pescifish gave. Helen |

They all sound good! I think I'll add these instructions to the FAQs next time I'm messing around in there.
