Ahem. Perhaps you mean, "Laissez les bon temps rouler"?

Thumbs up

Philosoft,

I stand corrected. Somehow I managed to spell "temps" phonetically!

Nowhere in our Declaration of Independence, Constitution, or Bill of Rights is there any mention of Jesus Christ or Christianity.
Uh-uh! It' says right there at the end of the Constitution: "Done in convention by the unanimous consent of the States present the seventeenth day of September in the year of our Lord" something something. The important thing is it says LORD!!!

Coming at it the other way, where would our republic be without Jesus' own words from Matthew 7:31?

Quote:
"You have heard it said by men of old time that anointed kings shall rule the land. But I say unto you, that your leaders shall be elected to a bicameral lawmaking body, and also a chief executive, having been chosen by ballots cast by a college of electors. 32 And the votes shall be cast by all the landowners. And eventually, men who don't own land. And later on, women. And slaves, except they won't be slaves anymore, slavery being an abomination unto the LORD which he hath not told you about. Until just now."

Forgive me Grumpy. I completely missed Jesus's words on the electoral college.

Don't you mean Matt 7:21?

(I thought we fought a Revolutionary War so we wouldn't have to pay homage to the British "LORDS.")

For fucks sake... my family founded Montgomery, Alabama... and to think that such retards make statements such as that from the town my family once owned... so painful.

No, 7:31. Your Bible doesn't have the extra verses of Matthew 7? What a shame.
